Privacy Policy

Sagaveld is built by Smidveld Studios. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, how it's used, and what we will never do with it. Questions? Email privacy@smidveld.com.

What we collect

• Account info — your email address and name, used to sign you in and run your account.
• Audio recordings — session audio you record in the app or upload to it.
• Transcripts — text generated from your recordings.
• Campaign content — characters, lore, quests, notes, documents, and chapters you and your table create.
• Waitlist emails — if you join the waitlist on our landing page.
• Basic usage data — things like which features are used and processing volumes, so we can keep the service running and improve it.

How your data is processed

To provide the service, some of your content passes through trusted service providers (subprocessors):

• AssemblyAI — a third-party speech-to-text processor that transcribes your audio recordings.
• AI language-model providers — your transcripts and campaign text are processed by AI models to generate recaps, lore entries, and chapters.
• Stripe — will process payments when subscriptions and print purchases launch. We never see or store your full card details.
• Base44 — our hosting and database platform, where your account and campaign data are stored.

These providers process your data only to deliver the service — nothing else.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data. Ever.
• We show no ads and share nothing with advertisers.
• Your recordings and transcripts are never used to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.
• Your campaign content is private to your campaign's members. Nobody outside your table can see it.

Retention and deletion

You can delete individual sessions, whole campaigns, or your entire account at any time. Deletion removes that content from our active systems. Deleted campaigns have a short recovery window before they're permanently purged.

A note about audio

Session recordings often contain the voices of people who don't have an account — your players and guests. The account holder who records or uploads audio is responsible for getting everyone's consent before recording, as described in our Terms of Service.

Age requirement

Sagaveld is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

California residents

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don't sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@smidveld.com.

Changes and contact
